72 Washer bottle neck-need measurements
Does anyone (Alan!!!) have a proper windshield washer bottle neck extension for a 72 or 72 that they could check a measurement on, maybe length from support bolt to tank top or somewhere, photo might help but need some actual measurements.
I've been looking for one for awhile and the number needs to be 3876541 but on the one I've currently been offered, it has no number so I can't tell if it's right of not.
Need some way of verifying it vs the several I have that are wrong. More or less they all seem to look the same (71-71, 73-74, and 75-85 are all similar) but my pile of "Don't Fit" extensions is getting out of hand
Thanks
Mooser

Hi m,
I'll look too!
I have a couple extra, but I'm not sure if they're 71 or 72?
Regards,
Alan

Far as I can figure, 71-71, then 73-74, then 75+ are the three styles (not sure what happened in 68-70, maybe the bags)
They are only repopping the 75+ style. I think it only works if you change the bottle to the newer style.
My car is far from a points car, (barely qualifies as a car) and I've never used the washer, just have this bracket hanging there on the fender all by it's lonesome.
If you could check some measurement on the neck you have that I could reproduce at a fleamarket, (length following the profile?) I'd appreciate it
Alan- Don't suppose you would like to part with an old one would you

I've been considering just giving up and going to the bag style but then I grit the teeth and keep looking (my wife calls it suborn but I like to think it's focused)
Thanks for the info on the 68-69 removable tanks, I had that same type of slide out unit on my 70 Nova

Picture
The filler neck on my '72 is 11.5 inches long
I hope this helps.

Thank yyz (wonder how many people don't get that handle or just think your a RUSH fan)
That's what I was afraid of, it's completely different than the other I've been seeing around, quite a bit taller/longer.
Damn
All well, more flea-markets next year, gives me reason to keep going
Thanks for the picture, I'll printed it out and added it to my shopping list packet.

Hi m,
I'm sorry I forgot about you!?!
The washer neck in my 71 is just like Barry's picture. You're right, the original neck is long, and the "off-set" is pretty great. My original neck doesn't have a part number molded in it.
The extra neck I have is 334775. The off-set is the same as my 71 neck, but the drop is only about half as much, so the bottle must be mounted higher up on the apron in this application.
Again, I'm sorry I haven't responded!
Regards,
Alan

Alan, no worries
With the amount of people after your knowledge and bottomless drawer of photo's I feel honored you responded at all.
334775 is for the 73-74 (I think I've got three of those now) followed by the 344810 (75-82 and listed as replacements for 71-82)
I've been wondering how even GM listed them as replacements since they are not even close to the right length.
Anyway, thanks for looking and thanks for getting back to me, really appreciated.
(and if you do ever trip across one....)

Finally
Look what showed up in the mail today
In perfect shape, yellowed (at least no brown stains, the new white jug certainly stands out now, may have to put the original one back on), neck is still quite flexible.
Let the sale of reproduction units start tomorrow (I'd still buy one)
