Default Fuse box

Hey all

I am trying to remove the dash harness and I am having a hard time removing the fuse box. Is the connector to the engine compartment part of the dash harness? If so, how hard is the connector to remove?

Thanks!
Jay

Default Easy peasy.

Really easy, as a matter of fact. My 1974 AIM shows that there are two bolts with a 5/16" head ( I think ) that you unscrew from inside the car. One is top right, the other bottom left. Then the engine side and the passenger side can be pried apart. Hope this helps.

There are the two inside the car on the corner of the fusebox. There is also one bolt that has to be removed from the engine bay. I think it is a 7/16th. Not sure. Anyway, once that is off, you can remove the engine and headlamp wiring harnesses. Just be careful separating the fuse box from the two wiring harnesses. Take your time and you will have no issue.

Engine and forward lamp harnesses under the hood have to be unplugged first. Main dash harness (and fuse box) will not come out until after these are disconnected.
