Best Magnaflow Muffler

magnaflow
I have magnaflows on my 82 and they sound great. Very nice tone and not too loud at all. If you want, I can post up pics of how they look, and a sound clip so you can hear what they sound like. They are worth the money, and in my opinion much nicer than the Flowmasters.

6SVette: Yes Please! post or send pics and all the video/audio files you can. I see CorvetteCentral has a dual exaust Magnaflow kit, but don't know what it would sound like on a stock 1975 engine. The demo they have is from a 70 BB. Also if you can let me know what model# mufflers you have that would be great.
Thanks.
Thanks.

How well did that system fit? Do you need extra hangers, or is that kit a bolt up and go system?
Is there a bung in the left side for the O2 sensor? I'm almost ready for mine....I hate this crap under my car...and I want to fit some chrome or ss tips on the mufflers the stick straight out the back, not down; any thoughts?

The Corvette Central system fit very well on my 82. It is pretty much bolt on and CC supplies all the clamps. I had to drill a couple of holes in my cross member for the new system hanger that replaced the cat hanger. I reused my original rear hangers. There is a bung for the O2 sensor (on the right side for 82). Here's a short video clip of mine. I need to either cut the threaded ends off the rear pipe to muffler clamps or remove them and have them welded.

Melting Slicks
That could be true - have not compared the sound where I've kept track of pipe diameter. It also depends on many factors when listening on a computer. The recording device, angle of recording, distance, and the computer you're listening on etc.
The recording of our '77 sounds great on a PC with a good speaker/sub system (very close to what it sounds like in person). On a laptop or phone, it sounds like the mufflers are worn out and rattling.

The muffler we use in our catback system for the 75s is 4"x9"x14" for reference, but you can use any of our universal mufflers with the right inlet/outlet diameter and we bet it'll come out sounding awesome!

Is that the largest (and most quiet at idle) Magna Flow muffler that will fit on C3 Corvette?
I called the Magna Flow number at the website, and while nice, the tech didnt or couldnt give me the exactly model of the largest that would fit.

I lucked out and bought a pair of Maggies from a local fellow....around 40 bux, off his Mustang... fit my '72 like a glove, but the local exhaust master deserves the credit.....sounds MAGNIFICENT>>>>>>>>

Unfortunately we do not keep that type of information on file, so its difficult to say. A 4x9x14 or 5x8x14 will fit without issue, but you may be able to squeeze a 5x8x18" in there. Before deciding on a unit, its good to take a quick peek under the car with a tape measure just to confirm the fitment.
