68 Corvette Body-off Birthday Restoration.
My birthday was a few days ago, i decided that a corvette needed to be taken from storage.
I picked our oldest vette to restore next.
This will be our first a race-car restoration.
Having done a 72 coupe vette months ago.
DAY 1: Included taking all the body bolts out and suspending the body.
While we rolled the frame out.
We are getting ready for powerwashing and to start the rebuild on the new motor.
Keep you guys updated
C3- Question: The <72 body bushing are aluminum. My dad says they are suppose to be very ridged. Should i take extra precautions to make sure the body is "snug"? Or do the polyurethane bushing upgrade kit help?
My dad thinks they would be technically a "downgrade".

First off, Happy Birthday!
When I did the body off resto on my '68 I used the original style aluminum mounts. I'm quite pleased with how the car rides.
I believe the rubber mounts used for MY '73 and later were thicker and the height of mounts on the frame were adjusted to compensate. If you go this way you may want to check this out more closely or your body may sit a bit high on the frame.
Good luck on your restoration!

Thanks
Will it interfere with anything? It wont bother me knowing its a lil bit higher.
Im going to spend the money and go get ALL new rubbers. Body and suspension and motor..
Worth it?

Update
Finally have the car on a proper lift, only a few more weeks to go. We had the motor blueprinted and installed it. The interior had been completely redone. Finishing up with the last trim pieces and seats. I wanted to update this thread instead of starting a new one, to show enthusiasts that this does not happen over night. This shows that you also dont need to have those fancy tools or expensive shop like those hot rod garage tv shows. I'll have more pictures and videos soon.
