'77 Heater / AC Vacuum Line Firewall Grommet
Hey all,
The original vacuum lines for the AC / Heat system are very small in diameter, and there is a 3 hole grommet in the firewall for these lines (highlighted in yellow). It has nipples molded into it on the inside of the firewall and the original small lines push into it. The replacement vacuum line kit I ordered has lines that are larger in outside diameter.
Is anyone aware of a replacement firewall grommet for this? OR - am I suppose to modify the factory grommet to fit the new lines?
Sorry for the confusing question - I'm not clear on what to ask for.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Adam

Good Luck! Look for a used one at a Corvette Junk yard or maybe one might be in stock in a old Chevrolet Dealers part dept.! How about a Corvette shop in your area?

I drilled out the nipples in the grommet so that I could run the uncovered line through the grommet into the cabin. I saw no need for additional connection points at the grommet that could leak. The grommet is very plyable and I drilled a hole slightly smaller than the tube, put some soapy water on it and slid the tubes through. Very easy.
