Default Interior Resto Nearly Complete (Pic Heavy)

In January I bought my first vette: a 75, pretty straight, great frame, CAM modded engine that hauls tail, but the typical dingy nearly 40 year old interior. Truth is, when I got started I thought I was just pulling the carpet because it was ratty and stunk. Little did I know, you never "JUST" do any ONE thing to a classic. Like I said, first vette.

Here's what I started with (luckily nearly ever piece was present, just pretty rough)

So out comes the carpet:

In goes the Dynamat and Reflcectix

Even put reflectix on the back of the passenger lower dash pad. (Why not, right?)

In goes the carpet: (Soldering Iron for the holes was a great tip I picked up on the Forum -- absolute must)

Got the storage compartment doors back on (complete with laminated jack instructions and new box liners):

Had to sort some wires (of course) -- I still have some that are unconnected that I can't identify. Everythign works though, except my reverse lights. I'll get that worked out this weekend.

Put the center console trim back together, slid in my little sub/amp/speaker box, and put in the passenger seat.

I'm liking it.

Do you guys think the black dash and carpet were the way to go, despite not being factory correct. I was torn. I like the contrast.

Any other fresh interiors you'd like to show off? Thanks for lookin in.

I think it looks great!

Never been a big fan of the All silver interior, so I love the black contrasts. Good Job Sir!

Thanks Kevin and DMEESQ... DMEESQ, I've been impressed with those seats since I first saw your post a while back. Beautiful car, man.

Incredible job for sure , the contrast makes it really Pop !
I'd like to do something with a speaker box as well , only problem stopping me is ...where do you put the roofs?

In the trunk

I leave 'em home. Or I pull the box for trips.

I'm probably going to have to do something else. It just eats up too much space, but man does it ever sound great. All Punch amps, speakers, sub. Good clean sound.

Great job all the way around- congrats !

I had a standard silver interior in my blue `75 two top roadster - - was definitely a 70's thing.

Nice work- thanks for the photos.

I like it.
I was wondering if you thought of doing some black on the door panels? I think that would add some contrast.

Yeah, doors are next, SteveO. Not sure about black there. I need to Dynamat the doors, get the bumpers so my glass doesn't rattle, and hit the face with a re-dye.

I'm not sure where on the doors to add black. Any thoughts?

See where he has the color on his doors? There!

It also might not even need it.

Get some black poster board or something, cut out the pattern, tape it up there, look at it and see if you would like it? Would give you a general idea.

I was thinking the doors need some black also. Maybe one or both of those outlined panels.

Leigh--

Looking fantastic... I'll admit that I didn't like the two-tone seats at first, but they look awesome with the rest of your two-tone concept... I agree with 76Ray, if you could fab some Black/Carbon Fiber inserts for the door panels, it would really set it off...
