Default What Carb & CFM on your SBC? MPG....

Thought I start a thread on which carb, cfm and mpg's on your SBC Vette. I'm using a Summit 600cfm VS on my 350 with a mild cam,Edlebrock heads, ram horn manifolds. With the ROD trans getting close to 20mpg's on the hiway.Overall pretty pleased with the combo.Throttle response is great around town.Vette is just a cruiser...Aloha's

Stock Q-Jet. I get a little over 20mpg on the highway. I get what I get around town.

(I wonder how many Holley folks will state their mileage???)

I will . . . averaged 19.2 this past weekend on a 600+ mile round trip with a Holley SA570.

I'll even come clean and state I've done the 700R4 swap. How about you?

If there is such a thing as a stupid question it's what gas mileage do you get on a C3. There are too many variables to get a meaningful answer. For me, it's how much fun do you get per gallon?

No problem. I've stated many times on this forum that I swapped out the 400 for the 700R4 last year. What a difference! I would get about 16-17 mpg on the highway with the THM-400. Now 20-21 mpg.

Nice work with your Holley. You've set it up well to get nearly 20 mpg with it.

Stock '81 E4ME quadrajet with Computer controls. I was averaging 16MPG last year. Not sure what I'm getting this year after the trans swap because I haven't been able to afford 2 full tanks of gas yet. I just put in $20 here and there. LOL

Thought it should be mentioned, for the sake of those members reading who may not be familiar with your setup, since it's not an apples-to-apples comparison with most.

Thank you!
That round trip was from the Tri-Cities to the north side of Nashville. Considering the topography and mainly 70-75 mph speeds (with the exception of Knoxville traffic ), I was happy with that number.

With fuel prices over 5 bucks a gallon here ,I'll take all the MPGs I can get.More funds for mods. Were getting some great numbers with carb's and OD trans.Heck my wife's RX330 gets 22mpg on the highway.

Holley 750DP on a 383 stroker with 3.73 gear. Gets 12 mpg most of the time but I don't do a lot of highway driving.

Holley 650 dual line double pumper. Rejetted, changed the power valve, changed the accelerator pump squirter timing and size. Ran great and got 17.5 mpg overall when last driven.

John

Edit: this was with the 350 trans. I didn't get a chance to figure the mpg after I swapped the 200-4R in.
