Just got back in from going to a concert. I see corvettes have had some troubles. Reading their twitter feed shows that the 74 has lost a wheel during the night and lost a lot of ground. 73 had its steering replaced and then the 74 was back in for gearbox problems.
They are now running 6th and 7th and looking to climb back up the standings.

I bet it is a hoot.
Several things must happened to the 74 this morning. Spent several hours in the pits after a crash to repair body work and then back in to fix body work after a spin.
73 is chasing down a Ferrari for fourth. Was 11 seconds behind and still working.

Factory Corvettes, LM GTE PRO class, finish 5th and 6th in class and cross the line together.
Last years Factory Corvettes, LM GTE AM class, finish 1st and 5th in class.
As always it is fun to watch. Corvettes will be running in the American Lemans series, Lime Rock next, if you like to watch the vettes race.

Safety Car
But still is was a "bad" day, Corvette number 73 (with the dane Jan M) and Audi number 2 (with also the dane Tom K) didn't come in at first place :-(
But I'II be back next year
Have a great day in USA

Having been there 6 times when the Porsche against the world battles were going on i'd say that an Audi Hybrid winning it's first time out was a big deal. I love watching the corvette's race along with all the others but you can't take away from Audi's accomplishments. And to answere your question my other car is a Porsche which is just as much fun to drive as my corvette.

I'm certainly not going to apologize for rooting for the Corvettes in either the pro or am classes. I could care less if 4 German Audi's powered by solar cells crossed the finish line 1,2,3,and 4. I don't watch the ALM series for the prototypes. I watch it to see if the racecars with CORVETTE on them are competitive with the other manufacturers entries.

Who the hell asked you to apologise? You can follow whomever you want to. If you follow the ALMS series then you ought to know that when the corvettes went from just racing each other to the other class they didn't do to well. I also enjoy watching the corvettes race but I'm not blind to the fact that there are other makes of cars that run as good or better than ours.

Le Mans Master
Watched every minunte, tho it took me a few days, and I'm already counting the days until next year's race. I would have posted sooner, but wanted to make sure to avoid any spoilers. Coverage was again exemplary, but I didn't care that they cut away from the race to show a mere NastyCar practice session. Sure wish the ALMS would give coverage of Sebring and Road Atlanta back to SPEED.
Anyway, a big congratulations to Larbre Competition for putting a Corvette on the top step in class.
FWIW to anyone who didn't already know without it being pointed out, Le Mans is now the greatest single sporting event in the world according to National Geographic...
1 - 24 Hours of Le Mans, France
2 - Olympic Games
3 - World Cup Soccer
4 - The Super Bowl, USA
5 - NBA Finals, USA
6 - The Masters, USA
7 - Polo at Palermo, Argentina
8 - Wimbeldon, England
9 - World Series, USA
10 - Grand National (steeplechase), England
While one could well argue with a couple of those, it's pretty cool that the USA made the list with four events, no?
