Autofab Moser rear pics
Autofab is making some progress on my rear, it is 4 inches wider then stock, with a 4:11 gear. It should apply torque to the pavement very nicely! Waiting on axles and brakes. Built to fit 2010+ Camaro wheels.
Asked them to replace the blue fittings with black before it is powdercoated black to match the car..
Wont be long now!

Hah not there yet, but I will let you know.. Should be tucked up in there tight, I know I have to cut the center area out to fit so I will fab something with a access panel. Still have to get the rest of the 4 link kit powder coated.. Also going to do my pro flo-xt project at same time so I will post up results when finished but it will be a while..

How much was the powder coating on the rear???
I have the same setup waiting at the house to be installed next week.
Moser M9 but ordered the aluminum 3rd member instead of the Nodular one.
What type of locking system did you go with???
Mine is a Detroit locker.

Wilwood sells rotors with a black "e-coat" which is an electroysis-applied coating.
The coating very quickly rubs off wherever the pad comes in contact with the rotor, after which the wear surface will appear extremely similar to any other rotor.
The difference is that all of the rotor surfaces OTHER than where YOUR PARTICULAR PAD contacts is permanently covered with a durable colored surface so it doesn't get that fugly rust buildup.
It will help maintain that just-finished look years after assembly.
So, thankfully I can tell you: It isn't so.

Hey thanks for the vote of confidence Brian.
The cap on top is actually a breather. The fill plug is on the side.
James you would need to bring a empty rear end housing to the powder-coater. The oven will melt any plastic or rubber parts. The guys I use charge 150 for a rear end housing, and offers sand blasting for 100 extra. If yours is assembled I would tape it off and paint it.
Mine is also a Detroit locker.
CVO2FIXUP I installed a solid axle rear because I have a TKO 600 transmission and a 600/600 Big Block Chevy and I want to apply all my torque to pavement without breaking parts.
My 4 link kit from Autofab was awesome and everything fit exactly right. In my case I have a 22 inch wheel 11 inches wide with a 305/25 tire. I had to modify my frame next to the 4-link brackets to be able to tuck the wheel up into the wheel well where it needed to be. I was able to adjust the height with the coil over shocks to be perfect with the additional weight of my rear speaker system and a full tank of gas.
Also I had Autofab make my rear 2 inches wider on each side and use the newer style axles to fit the widely available and cheaper new SS Camaro wheel offset and bolt pattern.

The rear is bare and unassembled…when I get home tomorrow I will begin the installation and after I get everything mocked up and the wheelie bar tabs welded on I am going to send it out to get powder coated. How did you keep the coating from going inside and messing with the axle housing ends?? Will they take care of that??

They have tape that works in the powder coat ovens. They can tape off any surface you need. Just make sure they know what they are doing with a rear end, or explain exactly what areas you do not want coated.
What are the specs on the wheels and tires you are using?
