Default Vapor Seperator

Hi guys, I just wanted to ask how important is the vapor separator in the fuel system? I don't plan on hooking up the canister anyway, so I was thinking, "do I really need this thing." I have a vented cap, but I was just reading a post earlier on about someones gas cap popping on them. What do you guys think? The reason why I am considering eliminating it is because the vapor separator that was on their is broken and I don't feel like spending ~$60 on a new one.

The only purpose it has is to make sure that only vapors, and not liquid gas is pulled into the canister. If you don't have a canister, there is no need for the separator. Just make sure you use a vented gas cap.

It is a vented cap. I'm going to cap it off and call it a day.Thank you for your help.
