1970 build sequence VIN number question
Hello - Im lookign to buy a C3 and I thought I would check out the VIN to get it decoded. The Vin ends 412173 which fits in the production range when I looked at http://rowleycorvette.com/stats70.html and also http://corvettec3.ca/vin.htm but all the other sites suggest a production sequence start of 100001 and an end of 117316. Whats correct? ANy help appreciated...thanks

#12173 would have been assembled in June, 1970.

Nice one Mike - thanks. I have just posted another question as we have hit an issue today on our C2 restoration. We have new 3/8 brake lines, but a 7/16 master brake cyclider so cant connect the two....any ideas?

zero cars have 3/8` brake lines of any make including Vettes......however almost any Auto Parts store carries adaptor fittings for the brake lines to fit the master cylinder including proportioning valves if a correct master or valve was not available.....

I may have not described it accurately but the connector on the end of the line and the connection on the master cylinder are different sizes. I have just checked Eckler and there is a 3/8 early year master cylinder and a 7/16 laster year master cylinder. What I have is pipework and end connector for an early year BUT an older year sized master cylinder...
