Picture needed
...of a "correct" 1970 rear suspension with rear end and half shafts. Im trying to get a better idea of the colors that the different parts were. I remember Alan used to have a picture up but can't find it anywhere.

Hi r,
Many of the parts were left 'natural'... they were extruded steel or cast iron.
The painted parts were the spring (light gray), the trailing arms (semi-gloss black, glossier than the frame often), shocks (dark gray), and some brackets (semi-flat black).
Eastwood sells many paints that imitate the 'natural' look for those who want to paint.
Here are some 'other' pictures (an LS-6 Kevin MacKay is restoring) you may find interesting.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

You are right! By the time the "new" car sat outside at the factory lot...then got shipped to the dealer and sat outside some more...and then you got it... most of the 'bare metal' parts had begun to rust. It was almost assured that the exhaust manifolds would be a light tan by then.
I think I can safely say that NO new C3, that had been received by its owner, ever looked like an NCRS Top Flight award winning car. He!!, most of them had so many factory defects, they would never have passed functional testing.
