Default My C3 Seats

I have a 79 Standard coupe. How do I adjust the seat-backs up? They lean too far back for my little wife.

I don't believe there is any adjustment for the seat backs. I know someone that put a covered foam wedge behind the seat and was thick enough to move the back forward.

My 79 does not have any type of seat back adjustment.

On my 78 there are two large bolts on the bottom back of the seats that screw and unscrew to raise or lower the seat. It doesn't go to far, though.

There is no factory adjustment. You might want to take a look at the hinges and ensure they are up to snuff.

Don: standard 78 seats are the old style high backs. 79 and up use the split backs.

I cut and placed heater hose (can double-up for more adjustment) on the clam-shell edge of the lower seat of my '80 to lessen the lean. Not a perfect solution, but cheap, easy, and improved the angle for me.

I put 1" aluminum stand offs under the back 2 seat bolts on my 76, made a big difference. I can almost see over the hood!

How about a seat cushion or a pad on the back of the seat? You might consider a lounge chair type pad to help her lean forward.

You can also install some 1/2" spacers between the floor and the rear of the seat rails to change the seat tilt somewhat. Just purchase some Grade 5 mounting bolts that are 1/2" longer than the ones you remove. The change in the seat angle at the front of the seat will not cause any problems with the install or operation of the seat.
