I have a buddy who is looking (hard) at a '70 Vette in Michigan. The problem is that he (we) are in Alaska. He has 60+ pics of the car but none of them show the common rust spots. We know the engine isn't original, ditto for the hood and a few other things, but he really wants to know if the car is showing any major rust in those critical (body mount/bird cage) spots.

Where in Michigan? Michigan may not be a big as Alaska, but knowing the city would be most helpful.

OK, I've got a bit more info... the Vette is a '72 (not '70) small-block located at a dealer in the Flushing/Flint area. Hope that might be close-enough to home for someone to have a look.

Thanks for the offers.... I'm going to pass this thread on to the guy who interested in the Vette. As you can imagine its a hell of a gamble to buy something without touching it.... nice to know there are people who know what go look for that are willing to help.
