good news checked the frame measurements and it was good. I was able to adjust the radiator support and it lines up now.

2022 C3 of the Year Finalist - Modified

Dude I can feel you pain about fitting the front clip.
No C3 is built the same, took me almost a full year between getting the donor front clip and have it glued in place.
It happened just couple of months ago, check my thread for details.

it is interesting to see some of the same issues I encountered after I had to remove my clip. the same little issue with the hood on the same side. It worked out after lots of work. but I am still nervous about putting the hood back on at the final point.

my issue was because the aftermarket inner fender i had to use on that side did not fit exactly the same. sat too low and back so had to adjust the hinges.

work hard and learn as you go (in my case).

I also agree, your will be really good looking when done (not that it isnt nice already)

Default update

Got more done recently, front clip is 100% finished. rebuilt and installed the headlight assemblies. pre fit all the bumpers grills and trim, then removed them for paint. I hate body work and a good friend of mine owns a body shop but hates mechanic work so we traded. I will do a fuel injection, power steering/brake and a/c install on his 55 Belair (actually used to be my 55) and he will finish striping my car to bare glass and paint it for me.

all fitted

dropped it off about a week ago

todays progress, hope to have it in epoxy primer in a few weeks

Looks great, and I agree, being a mechanic I never understood what made guys become body guys haha.

Would gladly trade mechanical work to get body work done.

Default a little more progress

the car is finally one color again after 8 years, it is only epoxy primer but will hopefully be in paint in a month or so. Just needs some light putty work and lots of block sanding.

Default Looks GREAT!!!

Looking GREAT!!!

Really like the red!!!

Looks like from one of the photos that you installed the front center grill a little bit forward vrs GM's location. I plan to do the same on my 72. I suppose the center grill location was good if you had to have a front license plate. Looks better though I think if more in line with the 2 side grills.

Won't be long now!!

Default got paint

It has been 9 years since I started this project although it did sit idle for about 5 years, but finally it is painted and wont be long until it is on the road. the lights in the paint booth do not do the color justice, it is a deep red/maroon in the daylight. feeling pumped

Great color choice. The paint looks excellent in the photos, too.
You can be driving it this summer, lots of work to do, but you're on the backstretch now.
