I've been on the c6 and C7 forum this last week for the first time ever. I now understand why most C6 guys don't wave..the guys like the C7 are the same ones who don't wave.

If I don't wave, to another vette, regardless of the year, it's because I didn't see them.
When I'm driving my car, i'm not sight-seeing, I focus on the road and what I'm doing.
And I like to think the majority of the other vette owners are doing the same thing.
The lady in the C6 was folliwing me for several blocks and when I put on my turn-signal to make a right turn, she pulled up on my left, beside me, we both looked at each other and waved. It was that simple.

I had a gray C-6 male driver pull up next to me in my '68 BB last fall.
He just couldn't tell me enough how much he liked my car.
I didn't have the heart to tell him it cost me 1/3 of his 6 and your probably not going to see another on the road today
But we did exchange parting waves

I drive a C6. I wave at nearly all Corvettes but for the C5 and C6. Those drivers dont wave back. I simply tired of trying to make it special for those that dont care.

I wave to all Corvettes. My wife has avoided being in any of my Corvettes (too loud, too low, too bumpy, no room, I drive too fast, blah, blah). On a rare occasion she was with me, a female Vette driver waved to me and I responded. I had a lot of explaining to do.

Around here the wave is nonexistent, i get waves from my doctor, local people i know, i get more waves from Jeep Liberty owners than vette owners.
Most C1-C3 will, but C4 up don't have a clue what going on

I'm no real old guy, but old enough to have been driving when anyone who had a performance car was turning their own wrenches. The waving in the older days came from two guys seeing one another and recognizing the fact that they both had in common the knowledge and love of performance automotives, owning a performance car and turning their own wrenches. When I used to drag race motorcycles, I'd go out on some early Saturday mornings or Sunday mornings in the winter when the track was closed, and blast around on my drag/street bike. I'd occasionally see another guy on a hot bike, or just a bike back then, and you'd know that the guy was into the same thing you were. Back then, anyone who rode a bike did their own wrench turning and had some knowledge of engines and the likes. The guys now days w/ the older 'Vettes are probably more apt to turn their own wrenches, as the older 'Vettes that are still driving around have had some extra work done to them keeping them in driving condition. Alot of guys in the newer 'Vettes in many cases aren't wrench turners and in many cases know little about automotives. I'm NOT saying all, as there are alot of guys who know their stuff who drive the new ones, but the older 'Vette owners are more apt to be wrench turners. Also, now days, unlike years ago, guys farm out their work and building of performance cars and when you ask them about the cam they run, they aren't sure what a cam is. So, you don't get waves from more of the guys in the newer 'Vettes, as "they're just driving their new car" in many cases, and aren't wrench turners. Also, times have changed, as the old "motorhead" is in some ways becoming extinct.
