Default Interior Door Vapor Barrier Installation Question

Corvette used some sort of flexible black caulking material around the boarder of the vapor barrier between the door and the vapor barrier. What was this material and where can I find it? I need to reinstall the vapor barrier. Thanks

Your local auto parts store or paint supplier. It's "strip caulk" Most of it that I've seen is gray, but pretty much the same stuff. Black might be a little more gooey.

I used clear silicone. It does not show with the door panel in place.

Hi 9,
The black 3M strip caulk is #08578.
The original caulk used had a thread in it; I guess to keep it from breaking as the worker stuck it on the door.
Regards,
Alan
