Default Rochester Fuel Filter cruds!!

Just did some cleaning of the carb and this is what I've found in the fuel filter. FYI, I have a Fram HPG1 canister fuel filter under the gas tank that does additional filtering.

What is that stuff?
Is it zinc casting flakes or is it just organic residue?
Hard to tell from the picture...

U got that right. Funny thing is that I have big filter below the gas tank that does additional filtering. Spec says up to 50 microns and still got this passed? I have new fuel lines by the way.

Good guess...except it is ethanol...and the resident spokesman for the corn juice should be here any minute now.

Your big filter does not seem to doing the job very well.

I'd say if you didn't clean the new lines really good the stuff may have came from there. The ethanol does a good job of cleaning up almost anything for ya.
