68' wiper motor question
catalogs show one wiper motor for 68' models, and a different one for 69'-72' models....does anyone know the difference, and will they interchange? thanks, Rick

Melting Slicks
the wiring is different on the '68. do a search for Willcox and the 68 wiper motor.
Found it. check this out.

Raz.. Interchange would be a royal pain.
You can find a ton of info on our site about the 68 motors too.. Here is the main link to all that info.

thanks a bunch everyone! (maybe that's why my wiper motor started smoking as soon as i hooked up the battery after installing a new engine harness! LOL)
i will look for Cardone unit locally, if i can't find it hopefully Willcox has one.
Ironcross...what does "A-1" mean??? Rick

I have a video on how to bench test your motor on our web site... just enter the year, select tech video's from the middle box and search wiper... you'll find it. I'd hate to see you buy one and have the same issue. .. .

Raz.. did you bench test the old one? 90 percent of the cores turned into us are good motors...

What was the old motor doing? If the old one works on the bench test then take the new one back.

Rick.. I wrote that a long time ago.. you'd better let me check it tomorrow. Where did the switch come from?
Ok.. looked at my three year old paper.. lol.. yes.. it is correct. With the turn signal switch in neutral...

i actually tried to order from Willcox, but you guys were out of stock, and not sure when to expect more....i got this one from Keen. but definitely no continuity to 7 post while in nuetral position and flasher button pushed in. i guess that means i won't have flashers?? maybe i should contact vendor and ask them about this concern...certainly not complaining about any vendor here, they were very professional and sent part right out. thanks, Rick (it's not like they make the parts, and most likely it comes from same source most vendors use, if not all vendors)

Yes you are correct... and I wish others would follow your lead with that kind of attitude.. It's great to see someone take things for what they are!

Keen, they are a great vendor, ungodly good people and plenty of knowledge... We just had the luxury of knowing there was an issue with the imported switch... else it would be us trying to solve the problem.

ok, now i feel like a REAL IDIOT...turns out i can't count up to the number eight...for some reason i was thinking there were 7 terminals on the harness, so when i checked continuity, and got to the last one, i ASSumed i had nothing at #7, but was actually on #8...i just went out to recheck it, and realized my mistake. so, since it ohms out ok, should i be ok with this switch, or are there other problems that tend to pop up down the road? thanks, Rick
