Door panels and sport mirrors
I removed my door panels on my 74 and they have a date of May 1974 on the backside. The drivers side wood grain insert has a chrome piece where the mirror adjustment would be for sport mirrors and my car has sport mirrors. There is no adjustment **** and or hole for a **** and the cables for the mirrors have been cut. I know 74's were not suppose to come with sport mirrors but can they be original or do you think another owner put them on? And why would they change the insert?
Thanks
Thanks

No 74's ever left St. Louis with sport mirrors.
A previous owner put them on, for sure. They may have been had the remote working, at some time in the past, or attempted to make them work.

Probably salvage yard mirrors that the 'junkie' cut the cables on when they were removed (easier).

My 74 coupe had sport mirrors. The installation looked stock to me, despite the fact the mirrors were not supposed to be available on the 74s.

I firmly believe that you can make many upgrades to the car by mixing and matching Chevrolet parts from different years, to your own taste.
(Don't say anything to the NCRS).
