Poppa got a new toy hauler today.
Nicely done Chuck. Now you will find that once you own one, you are always finding ways to use one. Look forward to connecting on the 20th. How are the "Cape Mason Liftoff" plans coming for you? Great fun.
Cheers.

Plans are coming along nicely for the lift off. I went through the lift off checklist and I think the only thing I have yet to do is remove the parking brake cable. I have a few locals interested in helping and checking out the lift off. I was planning for this weekend but the weather man says Saturday will be 10 and Sunday will be 18. Gonna be frigid so I may move it to after work on a warmer day.

Yeah DG we froze our butts off today.
On that note, here's the fun from today...I only missed one wire connected to the chassis.

Cold
Was a cold day for you but the frame looks pretty good. Using the new trailer also. Looks like a good week.

Melting Slicks
That's toughing it up! I agree with DG! UGH! Congrats guys on doing the hard stuff in adverse conditions! Frame looks great! The dust caps look mighty shiny in contrast to rest of the frame, but am sure pretty soon you everything will blend in! Keep "encouraging" the wife with the facts about purchasing the "home place". Keep it up Chuck!

Saturday was about the coldest day we have had so far this winter in Michigan, I think it was around 0 when I grabbed the trailer. My 2 helpers certainly earned their lunch that day.
Sorry you got to miss the fun Ken. It was actually quite a speedy process. From start to finish we took about 2 hours including remounting the doors and debating the best lift points. One of the helpers is a member on here and local Corvette enthusiast and steered me away from lifting on the fenders because of the flairs, something I hadn't thought about.
At this point the body is still hanging on the lift frame which should be remedied one of the nights this week. It ended up higher than I thought it would so I need some extra 4x4s to build a frame underneath the body to get jackstands underneath for lowering purposes. One thing I did notice is some rot on the passenger rocker channel. That repair might be out of my skill level at the moment so I will probably be contacting a couple local restoration shops for a quote on replacing both rocker channels.

Here's the one spot of rot in the rocker channel. Not bad, but I'm only planning on doing one body off resto so I will replace these so I don't have an issue down the road.
I also worked on building my support frame to drop the body down off of the lift frame. More yo come on that tomorrow.

Thanks tokim!
So I finally got around to getting the body supported from below on a 4x4 frame. I just need to drop the car down to a lower more manageable height. Unfortunately I have a couple scary pictures. I had noticed previously some separation of the rear foor jamb on the passenger side. The lift caused this area to seperate even more. The back end was definitely flexing down some. The jamb area will be my big area of concern on the body.
The scary, this was after I lifted the rear some.

I can do that when I get home tonight. The first picture is looking through the door gap from the side. The second is looking down at the back gap on the top of the door.

Roger, sorry I didn't post these last night. The boss needed a date night.
Looking down at the gap
From the side
Bonus pic showing the fiberglass seperated from the metal support behind the seats
Took a nice cruise 4 hours south today to meet up with David to transfer my chassis to his trailer for him to take back home and rebuild. I know it's in great hands.
Loading onto David's awesome trailer.

parts
New stuff, always a good day when parts come for a project. Have the same bags of wiring from Lectric Limited. They seem to be where many of us go for wire harnesses.
