Where to get Replace Diaphragms for Windshield Wiper Pumps
New to the Forum.
Trying to get the last of issues on my 1974 vette fixed to pass PA inspection. Part of windshield pump was missing. The standard fix kit has the top part that is missing, but the directions state to look at the diaphragm and replace it if necessary. Well I do not see any diaphragm there. So where to a get a replacement Diaphragm? Or is there no diaphragm for a 1974? Hoping not to have to by a full pump, too make it work.

Some of the vendors offer a pump rebuild kit. A diaphragm might be included in the kit.

Are you looking for the little round one way valves at the top of the pump or the pump/plunger assembly itself?
Pretty much all the rebuilt kits come with the valves but it's usually the seal on the plunger that goes bad and I haven't been able to find any replacements since AC/Delco stopped making them.

There is just a plunger and seal in the '72 washer pump, and I suspect other years may be the same.
I went to the local hardware store and bought a couple O-rings. One fits the inner diameter of the original seal and the other one sits over that to match the outer diameter of the original seal.
I was kind of suprised but that fix worked. Good luck finding a double-lip seal anywhere.
