What you do not want to do.
Since I'm a new member, thought I would tell about my 73 vette and what not to do. I ordered it new in August of 72. It was driven daily by me or my wife
until about 79. Driven off and on until about 92. Thought I was smart and covered it with a technalon car cover and tarp over that and it sat on drive
way beside my house undisturbed for 20 years. I traveled in my work and just never had time to drive it until I retired. Uncovered it and pushed it into
the new garage I had built after retirement. That's when I discovered that all metal had rusted on surface of all parts. Took me a whole month to open
the hood from under the car.
Now I am restoring the car from top to bottom. Have been working on it for about 1 1/2 years now. Engine was fine internally, but was bad on the outside.
I have cleaned and painted all metal on frame with POR-15. Too many other things I have and will do to list. Will post pictures as I progress.

Wow! I thought my '80 was bad when I started it, but it didn't look as bad as yours. Nice job! Obviously you're doing a frame-off? Anyways, my kudos for saving another Vette from the scrap heap.

Very Well done, having bought the car new, it must be very rewarding to see it being brought back to its former glory.

Do you realize both strut rods in the back are bent?

DP73, great job you're doing on the restoration! If you would like to replace those strut rods, I have an extra set that came in a box of parts with my '73. You'll just need to sand blast or wire wheel them and add bushings. If you want them, they're yours. Just PM me your info and I'll sent them out, gratis for saving an old C3.
