I knew about the 'un-lined-up digits', but didn't know about the 'white bars'..!

His answer to me was that he has seen numerous engines stamped like that and that he has no idea about the numbers in the background and that they must be ghosts from the camera flash. Draw your own conclusions.

You'll note that he still didn't say that it was the original engine. I've seen many pads like in the pic too.

My conclusion is that if he's seen numerous engines stamped like that, he's had numerous blocks stamped by the same guy that stamped that one.

Maybe it was stamped during "Take Your Child To Work Day".

Honestly. That thing had to be restamped while it was still in the car. I don't know ANYTHING about stamps/restamps and even I think that looks like crap.
