Default BBC Tall Valve Cover question

I bought these and was having the shop put them on while they did some other things.

They tell me they will not fit because of the location for the port for the PCV valve set up.

Can anyone recommend a set of tall valve covers that work?

Most tall BB valve covers cannot be used a Corvette with power brakes. I can't comment on your PCV without more info or photos.

Hmmm - I had a similar problem this weekend. Bought some tall sweet fabricated/welded aluminum tall valve covers for my BB with A/C and neither side would fit. The Alternator bracket hit the driver's side cover (might be able to fix that), but the passenger side hit the heater/AC box which I'm unwilling to remove... Bummer!

Guess I gotta get some short valve covers. Does that mean I won't be able to get roller rockers/hydraulics in there?

Use double cork valve cover gaskets. Glue them together. I did it on a BB in a 77 I had with roller rockers.

I can see where the alternator might be an issue. Is it the bracket or the bolt holding it to the bracket?

No A/C on mine. I need to get some more details from the shop.

I've had tall covers on my BB since 1981 and the only problem is that you have to take your time with the drivers side. It takes a little patience getting it to go on under the booster but it will fit without putting any dents in it. Mine has power brakes but no AC so the pass side is a breeze.

These are pretty popular on the chevelle forum 3/4 taller without drippers. They have them in power brake and non PB also.

I'm using roller rockers with Dart Pro 1 heads on my 1970 454 - I used a 5/16" cork gasket with the factory chrome valve covers, no clearance issues at all. I bought this gasket from Summit Racing:

I am trying to get a set of tall Edelbrock valve covers onto my 73 454, it looks like i need a good 1/2" off of the brake booster to make it work. Was yours that tight, and you managed to squeeze it in?

The ones I first used were from Moroso and were close fitting but went in without denting them. Not sure if the ones you have are rounded or the square version but that may make the difference in getting them in there.
