Wheel wells were part of the blackout process. Most received some form of factory undercoating and cheapo flat black lacquer.

I have my front and rear clips removed from the Bird Cage right now. I had them flipped over and was inspecting the wells. I was amazed at how much road tar was stuck to the insides, along with pebbles and dirt. This will have to cleaned off. I was thinking of recoating the insides of the wheel wells with something more durable than the paint that they sprayed at the factory. Maybe a truck bed liner application or an underbody spray.

You could always try Lizard Skin or that U-Pol Raptor Liner. I will probably be doing mine with the Lizard Skin when I get to that point!

I scrubbed the wheelwells really well and used spray undercoat on mine. So far so good....
