RE: New Location and procedures

Attention Automotive Classic Car & Memorabilia Collectors!!!!!!!

It’s that time again and planning is well under way for the 3rd Annual Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum Classic Car & Memorabilia Auction!!! The 3rd Annual event will take on a whole new look with all new procedures! This year’s event promises to be exciting and eventful for everyone involved! The event will take place in an ALL NEW LOCATION FOR 2013!!!!!!!!! After much planning and organizing we are now excited to announce that this year’s event will be held “in doors” at the all new completely renovated state of the art Decatur Conference Center and Hotel! – 4191 W US Route 36 – Decatur, IL. 62522 - Straight West of the museum on the opposite side of town. “This is a huge announcement for the Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum and the DCCH, as well as the city of Decatur”, says museum founder, president and event organizer LaVelle Hunt. The DCCH is a massive beautiful facility that will undertake this all new completely re-organized event. The event will take place this year on September 27th and 28th, 2013. There will be up to 150 classic, antique and special interest automobiles rolling across the block for auction on Saturday. Memorabilia will include gas pumps, porcelain and neon signs and much much more!!!
Don’t miss this third annual event as the two previous years have proved to be a huge success for buyers and sellers alike! About 40% of the vehicles sold in 2012 bringing fair prices for buyers and sellers. There was a huge crowd of bidders on hand that saw a very nice selection of quality and rare automobiles for auction and lots of great collector memorabilia auctioned off Friday night. A great time was had by all! IT”S TIME NOW TO CONSIGN FOR BEST AUCTION SLOTS AS WE HAVE CHANGED UP AUCTION SLOTS TO FIRST REGISTERED, FIRST AUCTIONED! ABSOLUTLY NO EXCEPTIONS! The order in which the cars are registered will be the order in which the cars will be auctioned off, which is another new procedure for 2013. This will eliminate any issues and will prove to be the right thing to do for a one day car auction. Consignors will be allowed to purchase their numbers ahead of time without event staff knowing of exact vehicle at that particular time and that slot will be reserved for that consignor in the order they purchased the number. These numbers will be expected to be paid for up front in order to reserve that slot.
The schedule will be identical to 2012 starting with Friday September 27th Preview at 3:00 pm (CST) and Memorabilia Auction getting underway at 6:00 pm (CST). Memorabilia will continue at 9:00 am Saturday September 28th for one hour only! Classic Cars will start rolling across the auction block “in doors” at 10:00 am (CST). All automobiles will be auctioned on Saturday.
Again this year for the third year in a row, the event will partner with the same auction staff to assist in the process of auctioning off your automobiles and memorabilia. Les Crandall from Central Illinois Auctions and Jack Wilkerson from Hayden-Wilkerson Auction Service (both Decatur, IL. based firms) will be the Auctioneers. Event organizer LaVelle Hunt feels he has the best auction staff he could put together for this great Central Illinois event for the third year in a row.
Make sure you arrive early to get registered and get your bidder pass. A completed Bank Letter of Credit will need to be on file to be able to bid on automobiles or you will be required to leave a $500 refundable deposit in order to get a bidder pass for bidding on Saturday. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
Again, the new location will be: The Decatur Conference Center and Hotel. The address is: 4191 W US Route 36 – Decatur, IL. 62522 – phone – 217-422-8800. The DCCH (Host hotel) has created special rates for consignors and bidders. The special rate is set at $79.00 for Friday and Saturday night or a brand new Business Class Executive room for $95.00 All rooms will be a first come, first served basis, so we would encourage you to get your rooms booked ASAP, by calling the number above and letting them know you’re coming in for the auction. The hotel will be providing great food and beverages, cocktails for purchase during the course of the event.
For 2013, fees and cost will once again remain the same. Cost to the public will see a minor change now seeing a $3.00 per day entry fee or a two day pass for $5.00 Entry fee for consigning vehicles will remain at $250.00 for cars and $150.00 for motorcycles per unit. There is no consignment fee for vehicles being auctioned with “NO RESERVE”. Also, there will be no entry fee for memorabilia. Seller fees will remain the same for 2013 as well. It will be 15% for memorabilia and 5% for automobiles and motorcycles, which is the lowest in the industry.
Please stay tuned to our website, FB page and emails for much more exciting announcements and up to date information regarding this year’s auction. Entries will be posted on our website.
