Off topic: 1969 E-Type 4.2 L Auto Trans. while we were living in Las Vegas, a long project just to get it run up Mt. Charleston w/out over heating.I have had it to 110 mph across HWY 44 Mt. Lassen Ca.

Once I got the heat problem under control driving was fun, A real head turner.

Wow ! That is a nice E- Type

It may not be as cool as your E-Type

But what is really cool about this car is that my brother and I picked this car up from a guy about four years ago in Staten Island for 1,400 bucks. 87 XJ-6 and she is mint.

I love Jags, if Corvettes weren't my favorite I would probably say that Jags are my favorite.

I don't own any classic jags yet, but hope to get one of the following sometime in my future: XJS, XJSC, E type, XJ 120, etc.

Yours looks great!

Hello everyone......it's been awhile since turning a wrench on the old vet,
But to bring up to date...I got the seats covered,

and my wife presented me with my Birthday & X-Mass gift NEW wheels

They cleaned up real well from what they had become from sitting under the car while it was worked on.

And a new dash I am still playing with, the old dash was kind of shot.

Getting close.....

that is a lot of work there. I was wondering why a 2 year old thread was being resurrected. But with the move to Carson City, NV, it would take some time to get started again.

I was in Carson City last week, and drove out to Virginia City. Carson City is a nice historical downtown area. Pretty quiet. Virginia City was a nice stop to have lunch and play tourist.

Good luck on getting the rest of the Vette completed.

Thanks for the look, and yes it has taken some time to get back to it. I do not have garage like I had, nor can I with building code as they are.
So rearrange the one I have and keep going. Thank again.

It appears the body sits high...is there a way to lower it a bit???
OR take it to a suspension shop? possible alignment needed after lowering it?

Longer bolts in the back and cut a coil or maybe even a 1 1/2 coils off the front. Then yes have it aligned...

Was it normal for it to sit high like that, I keep looking at photo's, and everyone seems to sit lower....Maybe the PO raised it up???

I will check out the advise, Thanks...

After some trial & error I found a way to hold the wire harness up out of the way so I could get the dash clipped into place. Now hookup the different systems, wipers, lights, instr. consul clove box and a/c duct.

Lookin good DB, it's getting there. I'm in the middle, well over halfway done, with restoring my dash w/vintage air A/C, it's taking me a lot longer than I thought but I'm also adding insulation to it. The insulation is a self adhesive with fiberglass fill and a heavy aluminum top so I have to make a pattern of an area with paper, then cut out the insulation and move on to the next area, lot's of little intricate areas so it's been very time consuming, add to that I don't get into a hurry so I "try" to make a minimum of mistakes anyway, yours is coming along nicely!

Thanks for the support, I too tend to get in a hurry, causes me to re-due what should have been just one shot. But then fit and re-fit to get it right seems to be the word of the day. Even thought I follow the AIM and think I have it figured out. I find some things are not explained well, now to get my fat hands in there...Glad to hear your making good progress
GoodLuck

I use the AIM as a last resort, it can be difficult to understand at times. but it does have it's use. Keep up the good work
