Default Lock-up or not

Im trying to identify what transmission my 1978 woiuld have come with, a lock up or non lock TH350? The transmission I got with the pile of parts has the elec connection on the side, but doesnt look like it was being used (full of gunk). Any info on lock-up vs non lock up in a 78 would be appreciated.

Default Transmission

The lock up torque converter did not show up on Corvettes until 1981.

thanks! Any idea what that wire connects to to make the lock-up work? From my reading, I can just use a non-lock up TC and ignore the wire. But what would need to be done to make it work?

It sounds like the tranny isn't in the car. Are you sure it's a TH350? The TH400 has an electrical connection for a "kick down" for passing gear. Where is the electrical connection.

Yes, the trans is on the bench for a rebuild. It has the 5 sided pan (square with a 45 corner), so unless I completely missed my mark, then it is a 350. Connection is on the driver side.

Looks like a TC lock up 350 to me. It came from somewhere.
