on the 82 hood there is a opening in the middle of the hood that lets in cold air from the front of the car .it has a rubber gasket that fits over the air cleaners on top of both tbs.remove the flap and you get cooler air from the outside of the engine bay.

on the bottom side of your hood .where the hood goes across the radiator support you will see what is a opening that opens and closes .it lets in cooler air.amorget has a pic posted

So, discovery I made today while trying to troubleshoot issues with the wiring harness.... the under hood wiring appears to be from an 1982. I was looking at the "B" connector and none of the colors matched up with what was on the 81 wiring diagram. I had the 82, so I looked at that and they all match up! It explains why the wiring looked factory.... because it was! I am going to have to take a look at the interior wiring harness to see if it is 81 or 82... if it's 81, that might explain a lot as to why almost no electronics work.
