78 Sold 73 bought!!!! Lots pix!
So tonight I sold the 78 and bought the 73, It's not a BB car but one step closer the that someday!
Tomorrow I will start by trying to get some brakes on it an check all the safty stuff too.
Here are pix!
It's an L-48 and appears to be very original. I am just going to have to decide how I want to approach the restoration. I am not at the point where I could handle a frame off but I really want to fix it nice.
The original color was Dark Blue Metallic which was a 73 only year paint color. The car has been sitting in a garage since 1985.
What do you all think! I probably won't sleep tonight....hahaha

Looks good. I myself would much rather have a 73 than a 78. Lots of cleaning will make it look alot betta at a minimal cost. Make sure you clean the interior with mold and mildew cleaner.

Nice going. You've been here before, now just get a game plan, take your time and stick to it. Good luck.
Oh by the way, have you ever thought about selling cars for a living?

Nice car and welcome to the 73 Club. I have an L82 with the same color combination (your original color and interior). From the photos, there is a lot of "originality" to your car.
Keep in touch with us as you go thru the restoration.

Clean the heck out of the pain and interior and make them look decent while you get the mechanical areas working like they should. Then after you drive it for a couple of months, you can focus on paint and interior at that point. Congrats on the swap!!

Hi Fat Cat,
My '72 looked exactly like yours when I started restoring it! It had also been sitting for 25 years. I think you are going to have a lot of fun, hard work and enjoyment for the next year or two.
Regards,
Bob

Thanks everyone, I didn't sleep well last night, I am putting new calipers on today, checking wheel bearing and U joint trying to get it where I can at least drive it around the block. Hahaha.

Hi from another Tulsa area '73. That's the year I started with. It was just about in the same shape too. It was long after that I found the '70 big block. It can happen. Still own both of them too.
See you around.

I like her. She looks reasonably intact. Nice catch.

Well, the body appears to be in reasonably good shape...which is a good thing! And the engine components seem to all be there...also a good thing!
The rust condition on the body mounts looks to be OK; hopefully, the underside looks the same--surface rust, nothing major.
The interior is TOAST. I don't even see many panels that can be reused. Possibly the driver's dash pad and trans tunnel. Pretty expensive to bring that interior up to stock condition....or any other decent condition.
Gauges are all there and gauge cluster is "whole". If the radio works, that would be a real "plus".
You have a good starting point. As you stated, make sure the car is SAFE, first; then make it operational; THEN make it 'purty'.
