FWIW: Chilton's is copyrighted material. Let's hope the folks creating the .pdf file know that.

2022 C3 of the Year Finalist - Modified
It's been run thru an OCR, as a result part with lots of "photocopier noise" ended up as gibberish. I'd rather take a plain photocopy and let my own brain do the character recognition.
Pretty useless in that state if you ask me.

A Chilton's manual is better than no manual at all. But, I don't have (or need) a Chilton's or Haynes manual for my car.

So one can quickly search on a computer for what they need instead of using the 'ol table of contents method. I'll tell you what, finding information in documents that are searchable is the best thing ever. I'm not sure I'd have made it through college if it didn't exist!

When done well, OCR is the bees knees when searching a doc. I use it on the AIM all the time. it saves my tired eyes a LOT of work.
I still keep a paper copy to refer to but I absolutely hate the way the aim is put together. Yes I know it was not designed for consumer use, but a room full of monkeys banging away on a keyboard could do a better technical writing job.
Searching is what the PDF is for.
Keep the OCR, just make a decent copy.
Luddites can ignore the above.

The Chilton and Hayne's manuals do serve a purpose. No where in the Dealer's 1980 Shop Manual does it explain how to tear down the tilt telescoping steering column. In particular how to separate the tilt pivot from the bottom half of the column. Without the Hayne's I would have never figured it out. I'd still be looking for some bolt or set screw somewhere; probably would have screwed it up. But with that said, you do have to look hard for anything useful in these aftermarket manuals.
