Default 1972 4.56 gear. How many

Does anyone have the numbers on how many were sold in 72 model year with the 4.56 rear gears? Was that ratio available with all engines?
Thanks, Bob

That number would be "0", 4.56 gears weren't available in 72.
1971 was the last year for 4.56 gears, only available on the LT-1 with M22 transmission.

None. You had to make do with 4.11s for the 72 model year. There were about 2000 72s with optional gear sets, but no records of which ratios were included in that figure.

Thanks for the replies. Now I'm confused though. I have a center section here, 3899143 that must have been re-stamped. Cast code is D 25 2 but is stamped FC W 2 2 2 E1. So I know that the Feb 2 2 doesn't fly with the D 25 date. But, could the guy have picked up the 2 instead of the 5 stamp which would have been 5 2 2. Makes you think, doesn't it.

Or was he being lazy and just going to use the 2 as a 5 for that day but forgot to flip it over. I've got 2 more cases here to compare with and that surface does not look altered.
