Thanks Men.......and now that you guys have me "booked up" through May, I need to wrap up all the minor repairs on the car so I can finish the body work (one little modifications comes to mind/one of Bubba's grand achievements----too bad the car is ACTUALLY a 1968 model))...........

I been away from here for a couple days, now I see your into locks? How did you go from dash to steering column to locks? At this rate, you'll never be "finished". (We never are) but I'm glad this thread is alive. Keeps me coming back for more.

My buddy has that same car, 82 white. Last year we took off the cross fire, and installed a 4 barrel. Did that make a difference!! Car has ALOT of ***** now. LOL.

I hav e an Edelbrock 4-barrel on the '70SBC per the P.O.
I had to jet it down 5 sizes to keep it from running too rich....same with the secondary jets....it has more spunk now that it's not drowning in gasoline.
Everyone probably knows the o-ring trick............................
The door linkage has a rattle to it where the rod is held with the retainer.....
A small o-ring placed in the clip and then installed on the linkage stopped the noise---so all the clips received O-rings (and my fingers received satin black touch-up paint).......
The threaded barrel nut on the radio kept disappearing when I tried to install the washer and retaining nut onto it.....so it got the o-ring treatment too---then the barrel nut stayed in place/didn't slide into the radio housing.......

Ok McGiver.! Nice work. I too was out last night for my son's B-day. He was born on April 1st. He's 19 now, his girlfriend took him sky diving for his B-day. Pictures are awesome.

When I went on my first mission in Nam as a doorgunner I had to stand beside an "experienced doorgunner". The first LZ we landed at---the NVA was waiting for us...around 5-6 of them. The doorgunner took care of them fast...one of them was still squirming around....the doorgunner grabbed a worn-out M60 barrel in one hand and me with the other hand and yanked me with him as he jumped out of the helicopter. We ran over to the NVA who was still squirming....the doorgunner screamed at me over the helicopter engines---"This is how you know when they are dead"......then he clubbed the NVA in the head about six times until the guys brains were hanging out the top of his skull.....then he looked at me and said "See THAT....THAT'S how you tell if they're DEAD!" The we ran as I vomited everywhere and jumped back into the helicopter where the pilot cursed us to no end for leaving out post!
(Disclaimer: I NEVER tell a war story for the "fun of it". I think people should know what Soldiers who have been in combat live with on a daily basis.....as Americans it's part of the price we pay for Freedom)

Hmmmmm.....Flashback! I think I was trained by an Airborne gunner my first day (it's not really clear because of the amnesia though).....
