Doorgunner's '68 Convertible Project
#1462
To my fellow Corvette Forum Members.........
Between the PTSD and my son's death I have reached the point that I need to take some time off from the Forum.
The project has occupied my mind helping me to deal with the memories, but it's been a struggle.
You guys and gals have been great in cheering me up and teaching me how to rebuild the car.
I will continue with the project, but I now realize that I need to devote much more time to dealing with emotional-psychological set-backs.
Thanks again and God Bless You.

You have my support, and I am sure everyone else's here on this Forum as well as your family and friends, in your quest to find peace in your life. No one should ever have to endure what you have.
You and your family are in my prayers.
One second, one minute, one hour, one day at a time. You will overcome!
Mike - Just one Canadian proud to chat with you!

Gunner,
Just make sure you keep turning wrenches while you get the rest of the help you need. It has been an honor for you to have shared your triumphs and tragedies with the rest of us. Nothing but the best for you and your family.

I lost my son Thanksgiving morning 2009. I held his hand as he stopped breathing. The MOST painful think I will ever go thru without question. I still have moments I can not function. I threw myself into building my other sons car for over a year. It gave my mind and body something to focus on. In some ways that car may have help save my life...because there were times I did think it would be better not dealing with it. Its been 5 1/2 years.....I get up everyday. I think about him everyday. I have faith that I will see him again...soon.
Hang in there as I am sure there are others counting on you...that love you. It will never be okay but it will be manageable. Pease my friend.

DG,
You will be missed! Just remember that Corvette Therapy does work and come back time to time just to let us know how you and the project car are doing (or just to say hello).
Take Care,
Paul

DG,
Just wanted pay my respects to you on this special day for your service and sacrifice made on our behalf of our country. Looking forward to your return to the board...plus I still want to see that darn convertible top buttoned down!
