Why are white Vettes harder to sell?

Why are white Vettes harder to sell?
Just my observation (no offense to owners of white Vettes) but after looking at thousands of C3s I notice that invariably the white ones are the last to sell or have a lower asking price. Just wondering why that is? Did Prince singing Little Red Corvette prejudice buyers?

white hides poor body work. I bought a white one and in the light of day it looked jam up.
further inspection showed me that I was "snow blind" when I took my initial looks
that's one idea?
next is that maybe white as a base color is not as popular
or it could be an executive order from Obama..

Times have changed, I guess. In 1978, I was selling a red '74 through a two-line classified newspaper ad (remember those?). At least half of the calls I got were people who's first question was asking the color and then the reply was "Oh, I want a white one." End of call, no further interest.
The other odd thing about that experience was that the rest of the callers had lists of options they were looking for, and if the car didn't have exactly the right mix of options, they weren't interested. They acted as if they were shopping dealers for their new car inventory.

Everyone's experience is different, but I wouldnt agree that white is the last to sell. Theres a couple colors that are really, really a detriment to sell (I wont say them because someone will get mad). I dont see white as anywhere near the negative these other colors are.
I see white as a middle range color, as in not an enhancement like black or red, but not a negative like some other colors.
White is commonly among the highest production C3 color each year, so maybe it seems like they are for sale longer because there's so many of them?

True, white is generally the highest production each year of the C3, so maybe that is why, but at one point it must have been popular to make that many each year.
My choices for a C3 was White or Black, I was not interested in any other color.

My neighbor makes living buying upper end, expensive, relatively new cars and then resells them. He buys only white, silver, grey, black cars. He says buyers tend to universally accept these colors. Almost all the cars he buys are Porches, MB's, or BMW's.
He beats the bushes looking for these cars. Auctions I think are his number one target. He'll buy cars he discovers from private adds. He also buys cars coming off leases, etc. He sells them to new car dealers who want to have quality used cars for sale. I think he ships some to other countries. Seems to make a good living out of it.

I never thought about the fact that there were more whites produced so they would be more common. Makes sense.
Personally I'm a red/black fan. My wife's theory is that white is too "virginal" for a Vette. Gotta love that logic!
