June '16 - Update #3
One final piece of news for June: Got the 68-77 Baldwin Motion/Grand Sport style Roller Latch Fuel Cap from Mustalgia. It's looking good, I think.

Firewall primered
Not much was accomplished in the last month, because we were vacationing in France for three weeks.
I just primered the firewall on the engine compartment side with a couple coats of SPI epoxy primer. I thought I had prepped the area well but now that the primer is on, I can see quite a few imperfections. I will address them later. Ultimately this epoxy primer will be sanded and top-coated in light grey.
On to the next baby step...

grease facials? tell your wife that it's good for the skin and maybe you can get her under there to help
she is really smart, but if you work on a serious face you might just convince her.

More prepping for priming
Working on the vette is the last thing my wife would do. And that's probably for the best, considering my OCD condition.
Anyways, after a lot more sanding, cleaning, masking & treating with rust converter, this is what I ended up with.
I was finally ready for some epoxy primer shooting.

Finally some blackness
Alright, so here's the result after applying black PPG DPLF epoxy primer.
Painting under the car was a challenge. I think I'll invest into a system that lets you paint upside down more easily.

Wow that looks good. I am about at that same stage and I will bee using PPG epoxy also. Try using the 3M disposable cup liners they allow you to tilt your gun more at an angle.

That Kool Overdrive 600
Thanks DUB - I appreciate it! One baby step every evening... except tonight, because I was too busy & excited to unpack today's big delivery. SST's TKO600 full conversion kit with a few more goodies

Now that's some cool stuff to get and I don't blame you for taking the night off. Doing a great job with the underneath areas. They can be a real pain to get the way you now have them.
Very Nice

YEP...I see a lot of time being spent making sure that all of these new 'goodies' get installed correctly. Which I have NO DOUBT you will accomplish correctly.
I am NOT knocking what you bought. BUT I will tell you that it MAY be worth your time that when you install the clutch master cylinder...and actually get it bled and press on it...either you or have someone WATCH the firewall area where the clutch master cylinder is mounted and see if you see ANY FLEXING in the fiberglass/SMC.
IF you do..I would back track and make a mounting plate that goes on the inside of the car that spans out the force so you do not fatigue the SMC and have cracks begin. I am ONLY commenting from experience.

In 4 years from now, hopefully it will be drivable & you will have a chance to experience the coolness first hand.
Thanks rvzio and congrats on starting your engine for the first time. You're years ahead of me.
Yes DUB, I have read other postings from you where you recommended to do this, and it has been on my mind. I'm tempted to be on the safe side and do it no matter what. Thanks for the heads-up.

Very nice and great work going on. Two things. I hope you marked how many shims you had on each body mount for reinstall. Also, great job on the windshield removal. Make sure you get the 3/8 damming foam when you reinstall the windshield. There is now a youtube video on C3 Windshield installs. Again nice job.
