Mark, as you see every item that goes back on is restored, painted or new! Should be close to new when done..

How is the Painless wiring working for you? What harness P/N # did you use? I have been thinking about doing that for my car. Body is going back on the frame this weekend and wiring will be soon and my stock wiring is brittle and a large part of the fuse box is melted.

Mac,

I first purchased a EZ wiring, but when I called to get a complete listing/schematic on the harness they refused to give it to me and were quite rude. Told me I had no deed for it. I used a Painless on my 1937 and the crew at tech support are always wanting to help so I sent the EZ back. I was trying to save a few dollars.

The painless comes with a complete listing.

Tim

The fuse box on the painless is a exact fit in the hole and all you have to do is screw it in with your org screws. I have not had any issues. Have another friend doing a frame off on a 76 and is using the same. He is almost done and took his on a maiden voyage last week.

Default Nice work

Man, I know what your doing and understand all the work that you have done and will do.
I just finished a 74 frame off just about everything new. It took me about 3000 hours over 2.5 years and I am retired so I had lots of time for it. How long have you been working on yours.
Its good to see that others can complete the work, many fail. Keep rockin man.

Wow. After catching up to your frame off restoration, I had it much easier than you up to this point. My body seemed to be in much better condition when I started. I really love that little wooden cart you rolled the body around on. I’m going to need to address that soon as I start prepping the body for paint, etc.

You've also reminded me that more than I need to address exactly what to do with my steering rack situation.

Shopman,

I have been at it for about a year. I take brakes and have to gather more funds to continue. Look at my Garage and you will see the completed 1937 Dodge Pickup....

Lots of people quit when they see how much work is involved and the cost to do it right. All of the interior is new on my project. It sat outside under a carport for 18 years in the Texas heat.

Thanks for your comment

As was mine, and yes, you certainly make light work of that damaged birdcage. Nice work!

Looks like it's coming along nicely. Do you have heat in the building where you're doing this frame off?

I have a Heat/ac unit but have never hooked it up. I have a propane heater that will make it tshirt weather....

I do not always do things in the same orders as Others.. I'm wired a little different lol...

My thoughts on doing the engine almost last is I do not want the moving parts sitting around with out getting run for a year while getting the rest of the car together. When I put the car back together for the final time it will be ready for the paint shop on its own power. I will be painting the underside of the car and engine bay in the next few weeks. I wanted the AC (interior part) installed prior so the plate in the engine bay would be painted with. So my next weeks work will be dirty work and will take some brakes doing wiring on the interior. I figure this will take me 2 to 4 weeks to complete this.

Well I started prepping engine compartment. Found some repairs that were not done correctly, all they did was pack on bondo.
