Got a few small items in today...
As I'm working on connecting my original gauges. The GM oil block off for the ext oil cooler comes with a metric threads so I added a adapter to get it down to 1/4" Still working on the temperature gauge but think I have found a solution. Found a thermostat sending unit that will send signal to PCM and has a 3rd pin to use for the original gauge. Still some testing to do.
I only ordered 1 3/8 to 6 an so had to order another for the fuel line that will connect to the fuel tank. Need to make the line to connect the fuel tank. My plans are to start the engine before I put the body back on the frame.

This afternoon I did a little work on the 73: When I put the trans in the mount was not in the correct position. The 4l60E for some reason was shorter. I cut and changed the mount to work for the new transmission.

Yesterday I finally decided to put the half shafts in. New U joints have been installed. Got all new bolts and cleaned up caps then powder coated them to match half shafts.

Your look and my look are quite similar, and I love the way they look, nice job. I need to mount up my side pipes and check clearances as well. I put the rack attack on mine and lines go below the oil pan, so clearance will have to be watched carefully, especially with that body on.
Good job, love following along.
Best regards,
David

David, do you have a thread on your project?

Christmas is over.. I set the new LS3 in but the oil pan will not work. I've been looking for a batwing pan with out paying a arm and leg for it. Think I found one will now in a few days.
My next issue is the upper A frames. My concern is when I get the alignment will putting shims in cause the belt to be too close to the arm. With no shims in I have plenty of room. But once I get it allined I do not want to have a issue.
I have decided to order some adjustable A arms
This will allow the allingment with out any shims.
I will be posting pictures as I get the LS3 all set up..
