Non-popup headlights, besides the $650 Ecklers kit?
I have had enough. I am tired of fighting with my pop up lights. I love the look of the reccessed Eckler's kit, but I cannot find it in me to drop that kinda cash for headlight. So, does anyone else know of some more cost effective alternative?
I was talking to someone who had the Ecklers kit that was just a couple hours away from me last summer, talking about doing a swap for my pop-ups, but I lost his contact info.

Check with EVERY vette shop you can contact, buy a used set....common as green grass....I bought my set NEW from Ecklers back in '98 when a damn deer jumped in front of me one night, and took out ALL the aluminum on both sides....at least it didn't come through the WS......

Couldn't hurt to post a Want To Buy in the Parts for Sale forum.

Have you considered keeping the pop up lights, but going electric?

Once my taxes come in, I most likely will put up a WTB thread.
I am just curious if anyone had an economical alternative.

The L-88's are racer cool but I dont care for the bug eyed look they give,
But are a must for that mean restro racer look.
Ecklers ARE very commen all over craigslist etc...you could easy trade pop ups for them,
I do happen to have one pair of the ecklers, not 100% they are the late model ( these came in 3 versions for 68-82 all 3 a little different )
Mine are missing the 4 sealed beam lamps and the metal piece that goes behind them for the adjusters, so you would have to get the metal pieces and lamps in the junkyard.
The two buckets are there with adjusters and the front trim pieces,
I would take 300.00

I've seen a drawing to make the recessed buckets somewhere. All the dimensions and sizes are on the drawing. Might be on another forum someplace.
