Thoughts on painting the tail
I need to get some repair work done on the back of the car so I am thinking of changing the paint scheme. Currently I am considering either painting the tail black or go black with everything behind the doors with something to break up the transition. My creativity abilities are limited so please provide your thoughts.
The pictures are:
1. Current
2. Photoshop, but would add detail line
3. Example car
4. Bring the C6R to C3 with black back. I like this but not sure of the transition.

I would try it in vinyl first to see if you like it on the car,if you don't you can have it taken off.

I like this look myself.
I have the Stinger hood and will be doing this style when completed.
I have also seen where the stripe coming over the top to the back deck flares out to meet the tail rather than a hard turn like this one.
Nice car, btw

Could do vinyl to be sure you like it or go with plastidip spray and the plastidip glossifier, can peel that right off and it doesn't hurt the paint. look at you tubes of plastidip cars

Beautiful cars blunblk68 and mad pad house, thanks for sharing! I would be very happy to have it turn out close to either.
One of the challenges doing the tail paint on my '75 is the bumper seam. Where would the detail line be in relation to the bumper seam?
I could have the bumper black, seam yellow then the black detail line but ddawson makes a good point "looks like you replaced the bumper and was too cheap to paint it".
Else the tail and seam could both be black similar to the pic below but add the detail line. May have to try the plastic dip.

While I like the look, I think you car would look best if you just extended your black stripe down to just above the "CORVETTE" emblems on the back bumper. If you wanted the Balwin Motion look, I would put the line either before, or behind the bumper seam. Not at the bumper seam. One way to solve the "unpainted bumper" look, glass in the bumper to the body!
