I bought new seat hing covers and acorn nuts for my 79 style seats. The covers seem to fit OK but I cannot figure out how to get the acorn nuts to go on. I thought they would screw on but the hole is round and not stepped. Also they seem to press on but they also come back off.

Are they supposed to press on or screw on?
I have a feeling that the nuts are just not the right ones even though they were bought as the right ones.

Don't they press on? I think I used a nut driver and pushed them on.
