69 Restore install BEGINS
#41
Our plan is to finish cleaning the firewall and fender wells this weekend, and hopefully get them in primer with in another week. Im expecting my heater core to be ready by Friday so next week I can get the heater and AC boxes installed. Slow but steady progress. My helpers original estimate was 750-1000 hours and it appears to be a really good estimate.

You've gotten a lot done since that pic was taken!

I work on it several nights a week and usually all day Saturday. On Sunday I have a guy that comes who has restored many of these and he works with me 7-10 hours. I worked a deal with him where I traded a 72 RS that I had 10K invested for his assistance in the total restore including paint. He comes every Sunday, works all day and leaves me with a list of things to have ready for the following week. We both think its a good deal which helps.

Hi mft,
Looks like good progress being made!
I really like the second picture in post #44.
A well done chassis with running gear is so interesting to look at that it's 'almost' to nice to cover with a body!
Thanks for the update! I enjoy seeing what people are working on!
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Hi Mft,
Based on one photo it appears to have turned out well!
Quite a different look than when it was disappearing around the corner on the trailer!
Putting them back together can be BIG fun!
Be CAREFUL!

Alan
Now TWO photos and looking even BETTER!

Yes indeed, the smallest thing can take forever. Now I am trying to figure out the corner molding that holds the weatherstrip. I have the two chrome pieces and the weatherstrip. It seams there is a small strip of self adhesive that goes between the weatherstrip and chrome or either between the chrome and the window frame
