just saw when I acquired my first Vette hypo 327 4peed 3:36 ragster BBLB . My Double XX spotted it out over 20 some years ago. Suppose it was a good thing that I had a cast on my foot cause by the time I got the D door open it fell on my ----[upper hinge broke]. Suspension shot. Exhaust; cracked manifold and loose mufflers, and yes I drove it home[what a wreck] !!! First repair door hinges. Only missed driving it one summer since cause I needed to reglass the firewall for the heater box. 35L & mega hours later 145 MPH in 4thd [ATTACH]47796368[/ATTACH YES its now a big spindle car [story there], chipped at 7400, shift lite at 72. 411 RWHP, and yes it is capable of passing an 08 on the track. Next its the Z cars. Here comes stage III !!!

Sounds like he took a POS and turned it into a tire-frying speed machine that did 145 mph at some point and made 411 rwhp. And now he's adding a blower.

Still molesting
Just installed and wired up the new MSD 135 amp alternator. Upgraded the wire from alt to MSD starter to a 6 guage wire. Also had to replace the wire to the temp sensor. It was getting cooked by the headers. When you are a member of the walking dead club, the brain synopsis aren't firing in any particular order and thoughts sometimes come in random. But I certainly can put together a mean rear end.. Note the Drag Vette 6-link, VP&B dual mount QA1 double adjustable shocks, Van Steel offset TArms, 305/660r18 Contintial on Fiske 11" wheels.. Yes I am having fun with this car, Sunday 6-1-14 the SCCA is having a HPD event at the Milwaukee Mile. I'll be there as long as it's not raining.T

6-1-14 Milwaukee Mile SCCA
Turned my new Wilwood rotors from black to blue, they worked and I'm starting to trust in the brakes. Only had slight fading, I think upgrading to the big spindles was a great improvement, just intermittent slightly lower pedal, think I got the bias set just right. My best laps were 1:23mins. Track configuration was 1.8 miles. This was my fourth time with The SCCA at the Mile. This time we ran it backwards, the way the INDY cars run [ they run just the one mile oval]. Spun out on the hairpin first time I was up to speed. I took the line allll wrong! Everybody is invited to participate in the SCCA HPDX events. Today I'm changing it over to a street car, took the slicks off. Weighted it first and it came in at 2923lbs with an 1/8 tank of go juice. Hows it look with the OEMs from the 9-car? T

Started the engine
P/u the AFRs from Mels, spring rate is 425@1.2 which should give me good closure with a .06 lift bumpstick @8k+rpm. The off coming heads are Dart PRO 1s, they are going into the 9car 427 L48. Considering that Darts and AFRs are about the same price , and both are setting here on the bench, you can see why the AFRs flow better. They were also CNCed. Changing the intake from a 7501 to a 2975. Spent a bunch of time modifying the P/S, V1 mounting bracket to acommindate the KRS p/s pump. I've been mocking the up the belt alignment for the V1 on the L48 427. Mel has these Champ oil pans [made in Eu Claire, Wi.] 7 quarters with baffels and trap doors for $165, just hadda have it. Cleaning up the PRO1s, changing the rocker studs around and maybe will have the heads and pan on by the end of day. T

In the tech section under 'show wheel and tire combos' page 11 post #201 you'll see how far the tires stick out, approx. 1 1/4". Using 11" wheels 5" b/s and offset trailing arms. The 16x10, 5"b/s that came off were a much nicer fit for the road, flush with the wheel house on top. T

Maybe a picture of the first mock up in car. Next the power steering pump belt, alternator belt with the Eldebrock water pump mounting to the V1 bracket. Two of four completed. Then onto the Vortec belt assembly, then the Jesel to complete a 4-belt system. This is the mock up engine, a fully rollered, forged rotating, Dart headed 4-bolt 427. T Oh well maybe tomorrow thy will let load picts.

Pulled the engine today
Friday I received my new cam from Straub Tech; .650 int .609exh with 256 int duration & 259 exh. Think I went to big? Time for new clutch disc, install clutch can and dial in. Also going with MSD 6al-2 [programmable controller] to regulate timing under boost. Need to mod the frame for the 6 rib belt pulley at crank. Wednesday we are going to install & degree cam, then I can get the push rods coming. If time allows we'll check cam to valve clearance. Sorry no picts as I'm such a cheapskate that I can't buy batteries for camera. T

Awesome build! Love the centrifugal going on there.
Btw, did you tell Straub you were putting a blower on it? Those preliminary cam specs don't look like a blower cam setup to me... Unless maybe it's a solid roller and even then the spread doesn't look right for a centrifugal setup..
I can't wait to see how it comes out. You gonna run it on E85 or put some meth injection on it?

Hardest forum to list pictures
This is my second attempt, first even had text, but that was completely erased when 'THIS PAGE HAS EXPIRED' appeared. All other forums I'm on pictures load right up. So here are the picts I posted. To bad none of us can see them. T
