For other people or for some other reason? Not sure how you'd go about making a mold either...

Looking back and reading your posts I just wanted to thank everyone again. It's the interest and encouragement from you all that keeps me motivated and focused to do a good job(as good as I can at least)

I think it came out about as good as I had hoped and from reading all your posts it probably surprised a few...which isn't surprising looking at my first post with the vent just sitting on top of the stock hood vs. the end result. Hard to envision that sometimes.

anyway. I hope to have this car painted and start putting it together this winter so maybe i'll be attending some shows next year... who knows!

I painted the old hood...does that count? lol.

Unfortunately no
I guess I'm either way too slow or too **** about all the other stuff.

I took a lot of time this fall/winter and got the underside, interior and engine bay painted for practice. Good news is I think that it all came out pretty good.

Then I quit my job and am moving 700 miles for a career change next week so I've been working my butt off for the past few months trying to get the car put back together and at least movable. Hope it doesn't rain as I won't have windows or windshield!

Video...kinda working. Wakes up a bit rough after a 2 year nap.

I also grafted in the corvette scripts. I would have loved to make them light up like Brent here on the forum but just didn't have time.

Well.... the old car made the 700 mile trip back to my home state...barely. Leaking in 3 places wiring issues, rained a little on the trip back with no windshield... bare bones!.

My old faithful garage my sister graciously kept waiting for me.

Sadly it's gonna be a super busy spring, and a possibility of buying another home and moving in the summer so my corvette working days are going to be limited I think for a while

I'd probably start priming things but I'm not very happy with how the APR hood gaps match up with my '69. I'll have to look at my options to making everything level and even before I paint... No point in wasting 5 years of work rushing to prime when things won't look good when done all uneven.

Don't worry punisher, it'll be waiting for you. I started my build Mother's Day weekend 2011. Since then I've sold 1 home, moved to another state, and lost my wonderful wife way too early. But the corvette is still with me, and nearly done.

It's a little further along now, the interior is close to being done.
I would get upset because I'm so slow or didn't have the time. I left it be for awhile when mourning. Now I relax, take my time. When it's done it's done. No time table. Enjoy it, it's a good project.

Yeah. It's looking good.

Mine will come together quickly when once I start painting the body. But till then it's just an ugly mess with lots of little issues that make me seem like 5 years has been wasted lol.

BUT... since I knew nothing about cars 5 years ago everything I do I have to learn for the first time, buy the tools needed, and figure it out. Which is why it's taking so long.

Sorry Guys. It's been a crazy year so far. I ended up buying the house next door and moving again 2 months after getting back to IL then a 3rd rental property not long after. The house has needed a complete remodel and tons of issues....ceiling, walls, flooring, drainage, lighting, ....... so my new garage is a mess right now and the corvette has been neglected.

Probably not till next summer will I have time to get back to it. Which means I probably won't paint till the following summer I'm afraid due to time/temperature problems in the winters here. So in 2 years time who knows where I'll be....might buy my own house(currently own all 3 houses with my sister that'll be rentals eventually) then I'll have to fix up my own house to my liking.

Good news is the house had priorities....garage got fixed up first to help store all my crap lol.

Before:

then I painted, made my own cabinets, peg board, installed air compressor, lighting, ....

Still have to work on the cabinet doors and drawers but it helped having storage.
