what"s it worth 1970 LT1
I saw a 1970 LT1 for sale on ebay a while ago. It did not have the LT1 engine . I made some inquiries to the owner who emailed me tonight if would like to buy it. He has pictures of it showing the stamp pad which reads as follows-- Serial Number 70S406842 . Build Code V0227CTU. The VIN number is 194370S406842, It has a 454 in it now , the original engine was sold on ebay. The car was painted red from grey, overall shape is average. What would it be worth

I'm a little lost. You say the car was for sale a while ago on eBay. You then ask what it might be worth. Is the car for sale now?

The fact that it was an LT-1 is a moot point since the original engine is gone. It's now worth the same as any other 1970 NOM car. Whoever sold that engine is a moron.

From the ad... "This car is not numbers matching. This is the only missing piece to return this car to numbers matching status. I have a photo of the original engine and the name of the eBay seller who sold the engine on eBay a few years ago. If that engine could be found and rebuilt, it could double the value of this car. Numbers matching LT1s in this condition are being priced at $40,000 to $50,000."
I'd say that's a rather important piece... I gather this fellow isn't the one who sold the engine, refers to another seller on eBay. Is this where the photos of the stamp pad came from? No guarantee of finding out who the buyer was. Could be someone who was looking for a candidate to restamp for another Corvette? Engine being available is a long shot.

1970 Corvette Block
Hi sorry that I am a few years late to this, but I am the current owner of the 1970 LT-1 block that belongs to this car.
It would be cool to talk to the person who owns this car with the VIN 194370S406842 and make the 1970 AlT-1 complete again! If anyone has any information on this car please send me a message or post it here!
Thanks,
Rob

Look at ad and you get dearborn hamilton. Public profile says keith hamilton. Sales. Google keith hamilton dearborn and i get a keith wayne hamilton on facebook looks like a gearhead. Marketing director of some global media something or other. Hasnt been on the forum in 5 years. I would try contacting him on facebook or call that company during business hours and ask for him. Good luck. That LT1 is the only small block car that was devalued by putting a big block in it...
