2"fender flares?
I am looking to install some 2" fender flares on a 68. This is my first C3. My question is will I need to install offset trailing arms with the new rims or will I be able to find proper offset rims to get the job done.

I have the four inch Custom Image flares, and am running stock trailing arms. I have 18" wheels and there is no problem.

I have 2" flares on my 73, I'm using stock trailing arms. Getting the backspacing correct on your rims will not be easy but it is possible. here is a picture where you can see both the front and rear tires

Since your car is a '68, are you going to go with 2" flares without the mud flap section? I'm not sure of any vendor who sells 2" flares for 68-69 Corvettes. Are you making your own?

Custom Image Corvette (CIC) make 2" flares for C3 Corvettes. However, they have the little mud flap at the bottom of the flare to suit '70+ cars.
I think that it would look out of place to have the beautiful 68-9 coke bottle fenders at the front and the mud flap at the rear.
IMO, the lack of the mud flap is what makes the 68-9 cars look so clean and sexy more so that even the gills.

This is my car with 4" rear and 2" front flares. It's actually a 76. 335 30 18 in back.
I like the look of the 4"/ 2" combo obviously, but if you go with 2" flares you can still put some pretty wide meat under the back and it is less obvious what you have done which is kind of cool in itself. It is also less work since you are only changing two fenders, and wheels/tires are a lot cheaper!
I don't really think the 2" have mud flaps either. I think they tried to mimic the fronts as much as possible.
Are you doing it yourself or having it done? Sounds like it will be cool either way.
Edit: The second photos are of a 70. I see what you are saying, bird.

the source for your flares
Hi Tim,
I absolutely love your flares. I'm working on a '72 and would like to know where you got your flares or did you do them yourself? I have been looking at the Custom Image corvette flares, but I really would like
flares like yours with the mud flaps. Any chance you would reveal your source. Thanks much for the info, but I really do like what you have done.

I believe tims flares are the smaller ecklers zl1,
Ecklers only sells the larger zl1,
I have both l88 and zl1 in the bat cave, cant decide which to run,
And on members mod74s sweet car
And James, another members amazing car,
Anyhoo, i dig flares on c3s,
If you decide on l88 syle the best prices are on ebay by far,, zl1 or mud flaps are harder to find,
