My contribution to the thread:

Just got it four months ago, I'm 62. Been on my bucket list ever since I was 18.

Can't wait for spring.

'70 LS-5, Bridgehampton Blue, Black vinyl (currently has some mediocre leather seats), PS, PB AC, AM/FM Stereo, 4 speed, 3.08.

I bought it in 2008 from the second owner. He tried to convince me that the 36,530 on the clock was the "original" mileage. I wouldn't doubt that it is, just that it is missing a digit on the left.

It is a lot of fun though, I just had it out yesterday.

1970 BB. Originally Laguna Greya grey, later repainted a metallic greenish blue, and then repainted red. Black interior. Came with a good complement of accessories that included the factory alarm and the AM/FM Stereo ($$). AC, PS, PB. Speedometer showed about 97,000 miles when bought in 1992. Appears to have been in a rather serious front end collision, although the frame wasn't bent. After removing paint, I can see the front end has a lot of fractured parts bonded together and the left front of the car has a great deal of thick bondo. The original engine is missing. In it's place is a BB that appears originally was from a 69 Impala SS. I assume the engine is a 454. The windshield wiper motor is not stock (had it restored and was told) , and the windshield door bracket was fractured by the accident. Even the rear view mirror, when I had it restored, they said it was not an original 70 mirror!! It's now a project car. I have a spare frame that is now a roller. The spare frame has an all Tom's rear end, TKO 600 five speed, McLoed twin disk clutch, a Black aluminum BB block. The car, minus the engine, still has the suspension and it too is a roller. Now trying to the interior back together. Now all red interior with mostly red repro parts. Now working on finishing the install of the Vintage Air airconditioning...got rid of the stock for more engine room; i.e. headders. Also working on the tach/speedo re-installation. Hope I can get this thing finished. Have to have the engine built and a new front end and paint....looks like some big bucks still remaining.

Yeah... cause typically, big blocks sound pretty weak.
