Default Rear Storage Compartment

My carpet pulled out from under my rear storage compartment. How do I unbolt it, so I can lift it up a little and tuck the carpet back in...

There should be screws all around the inside perimeter of the storage compartment frame. Horizontal to the cabin floor, IIRC. Either way, just remove them to fix your carpet.

Hi n2m,
In addition to the screws that CJ mentioned that hold the frame in place the screws that pass through the lid hinges into the under body need to be removed in order to lift the frame too.
Be careful you don't pull on the frame too much because it's pretty fragile if original.
Regards,
Alan

They said to remove the hinge screws AND the frame srcews, Remember what alan said; it can crack easily when lifting. First remove your jack bin, the center bin is attached to the frame with clips. When out of the way, try contact cement to the floor edge and the carpet bottom to keep it from slipping away again.

Hi,
Here you can see the hinge screws across the rear of the frame as well as some of the frame screws along it's side.
Very FRAGILE!

Alan

To echo what Alan said. Wiggle the frame carefully out from all directions. I will crack easily. When I re carpeted I tried to just raise it a little and slide the catpet under. The carpeting was too stiff for this. You may have to lift out the entire unit from side to side and carefully work it back in.

Hi,
What's really difficult is getting the carpet that comes up over the seat bulkhead and the piece for the rear compartment floor to BOTH stay under the frame at the same time so you can set the screws!

Alan
