FANTOMWORKS C3 restore

Le Mans Master
Car was his dad's and when he was a baby, dad used to put him on his lap and let him stir. This was to be a father/son restoration but dad passed away (according to the script).
The guy apparently owns and Italian family restaurant and has some money. Some things you just can't put a price/value on.

There was just under 1,000 hours in the labor alone.
All along during the show, they kept reminding him that even if he sinks $100,000+ into it, it will still be a $12-$20K car when done.

BION, lots of body rust/rot extending up to the bird cage. Driver window didn't work and acted as a "water collection device." They wanted to swap bodies (and save him a ton of $$$) but he wasn't having any of that. It had to be THIS CAR with this frame and body.

I sure am glad I don't have to run my expenditures through a panel for approval, although it seems like that day is coming.

Have not seen the show yet. So is that $90 / hr then?
I kind of like the show but kind of think he is a dick at times. Like when he told the mustang guy what he should do with the engine and pretty much refused to do what the customer wanted, and in the end are the car because he built him a car he did not want.
Makes for good tv I guess.
I do like the young kid that does the metal work. He seems like a 60 year old guy inside a kids body. A real hot rodder at heart.
I have it recorded and will check it out.

DVR'd it and just watched... The meaning of "a fool and his money soon parted ways". Even though the car had sentimental value to the guy...come on, $130k??? Supposedly had to strip 10 coats of paint. The rockers, A frames and floors pans were rusted out and had to be replaced. Rebuilt motor to 300hp. New interior, viper red paint etc. $31k in parts and 900 plus hours of labor over eight months....

All I can say is emotion drives spending. When we really want something, we stop at next to nothing to get it. That's why the Apple stores are packed on any given day. This guy got what he wanted, and that is what it is all about in business. Good for the both of them.
